Community Involvement
I believe the title of City Commissioner can be used to support our citizens, both inside and outside the city building. I have been honored to serve on various nonprofit boards in our area, including:
Build Ashland
Foundation For the Tri State
Highlands Museum and Discovery Center
United Way of Northeast Kentucky
CASA of Northeast Kentucky
Paramount Arts Center
I believe our citizens should be empowered to create and organize. In addition to our wonderful events we have had for years, like Summer Motion and Poage Landing Days, #CitizenCreators have organized many new events in Ashland, including Market On The Square (AKY Area Moms), Juneteenth Celebration (Ashland For Change), Latin Night (Ashland For Change), and Pride Picnic (Ashland Pride). City government should help citizens to understand the process of having an event and make this process as easy as possible. Everyone is invited to celebrate in our city!
